For a bride, the hours spent getting ready on the morning of her wedding should be a joyful time among friends, filled with laughter as the seconds tick away in that final countdown to Mrs. As a recent bride myself, I know that behind the best wedding days are months of planning and preparation.
While, unexpected and unavoidable hiccups can arise, there are so many things you can do ahead of time to ensure an enjoyable, stress-free experience while getting ready for your wedding…and come away with amazing pictures of the process!
Christine & Tyler’s Hyatt Ziva Cancun Destination Wedding was super emotional for me to photograph. The moment I walked into her room, I could feel all the love and joy from their family and friends, all together and united, ready to celebrate the marriage of two kind souls. They laughed, they danced, they cried (I cried behind my camera too!) and not even the rain during reception stopped them from smiling.
Where do I even begin to describe this Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun Wedding? Perhaps I will tell you how bride Laura put together a perfect, romantic look for her beach dream wedding: a jaw-dropping lace dress, a stunning greenery on their wedding aisle – or perhaps I’ll show you how they incorporated their cats into the names of their signature cocktails! (I already knew Laura was the coolest but this just made me want to be her bestie for life) … You know you want to click and view their gallery, so just do it!
When I met Damira and Robert for their Secrets Maroma Wedding, I was sure I was photographing a couple of professional russian models! The day was a little overcast, but the bride and groom along with their wedding party were ready to dance the night away!
Here in Cancun and Riviera Maya, May is known for being the busiest month for weddings – I was thrilled to spend the day with Xiao and Phil (world travelers, and Mexico lovers), on their Cabanas La Luna Tulum Wedding!
This Dreams Puerto Aventuras Elopement was amazing – Ashley and Steven, along their son and Ashley’s parents, enjoyed a beautiful, fresh evening without a single cloud in the sky.
“I actually found out about Monica from a friend here in Idaho who was married in Mexico about a year before us. We contacted her about 5 months before the date of the wedding. She set up a skype chat so we could ‘meet’ her before our big day. On the day of the wedding, Monica was punctual and wonderful to work with!”
I love elopements, I love sunsets and sunrises. And I love Isla Mujeres – so when Vanessa contacted me saying she wanted an Isla Mujeres Sunrise Elopement – I said YES, LET’S DO IT!
I remember so fondly Kim’s and Dave’s Playa del Carmen Elopement – It was 2015 and I was just starting to branch on the wedding scenario – Mariana from Mariana Balcazar wedding stylist contacted me for some fun pictures for the couple, and the rest is story! I am finally able to have some time and share a couple of my favorite images from their day.
