I remember so fondly Kim’s and Dave’s Playa del Carmen Elopement – It was 2015 and I was just starting to branch on the wedding scenario – Mariana from Mariana Balcazar wedding stylist contacted me for some fun pictures for the couple, and the rest is story! I am finally able to have some time and share a couple of my favorite images from their day.
The Hyatt Ziva Cancun Wedding of Heather and Jason was certainly a destination-wedding dream come true. From the turquoise blue of their invitations perfectly matching the sky and water the day of the ceremony, to a flawless night for dancing under a blend of stars and twinkle lights in celebration of the newly married couple, this was truly a picture perfect day from start to finish. And could any photographer ask for a more gorgeous backdrop to a wedding ceremony than the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Gran Caribe Resort looking out over the sugar white sands of Cancun?
So you’ve booked your engagement, maternity or anniversary photo shoot, and now you’re staring into your closet trying to figure out what you’re going to wear. Dressing for a beach romantic session can be a challenge in and of itself, but throw in the sand, waves and wind of a beach, and you’ve got yourself a real challenge.

Chaya and Chesky’s JW Marriott Cancun anniversary portraits could not have been more gorgeous. Combine one of the most photogenic couples ever with a perfect blue ocean, and you get magic. But while the perfection of the photos on the beach would have been enough to make a great engagement session, the variety of locations offered by the JW Marriott, from a lifeguard shack to the restaurant hotel, gave me room for so much creativity.
Just down the coast of the Yucatán Peninsula from Cancún, and directly across from the island of Cozumel, is a slightly lesser known, but equally as gorgeous, tropical beach paradise: Playa del Carmen. Well known for its beaches, coral reefs, shopping and food, is the perfect vacation spot for a young family to relax and build memories with their first child and have some Playa del Carmen family portraits done during sunset!
It isn’t everyday when everything from the weather to the water to even the birds cooperate flawlessly to create the perfect backdrop to a photo shoot. But that was certainly the story with these Hyatt Ziva Cancun maternity portraits.
This was my first time shooting at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, when it has recently opened and I was very excited to check out the new facilities. Guys. GUYS. This hotel is everything and more of what you’ve heard of. It’s hands down one of my favorite places for pictures, so if you’re staying here and having a wedding or want a session – send me an e-mail! I never get tired of this beautiful place!
It is a growing trend for couples to not only go on a honeymoon after they get married, but to then go on a “babymoon” as a last big adventure before they embark on an even bigger adventure. With the sun shining an average of 250 days a year, Krystal and Stuart selected the perfect spot to babymoon: Cancun. And when you’re in a beautiful, tropical location, what more perfect time is there to take some Cancun maternity portraits?
Today my heart jumped with joy when I saw Stephanie and Rick are still celebrating their couples anniversary. After their Hyatt Ziva Cancun Wedding last May, I’m hooked with taking more and more pictures in this resort. Stephanie is such a beautiful soul and Rick is just madly in love with her – when you see them together you know their souls were meant to be around each other. I believe Hyatt Ziva is the prettiest hotel in Cancun Hotel Zone were you can celebrate a beautiful wedding, and there’s no doubt Stephanie thought the same:
