White, sandy beaches, crystal clear water and getting the whole family together for a vacation sounds like the perfect way to spend a birthday, especially with the added bonus of a photographer to capture those memories in a family portrait session. And the Riu Palace Peninsula family portraits couldn’t have been set in a more beautiful tropical location. What a way to spend a birthday!
You don’t have to look hard to see the love this family has for each other, especially for the tiniest member of the family. But what grandma didn’t know was that there was an even bigger birthday surprise in store.
When we were halfway through the shoot, Ashley and Chris brought out a chalkboard easel with a list of Baby Madelina’s greatest achievements on it. But to the surprise of Chris’ parents and sisters, the final item on the to-do list, “become a big sister,” received a check-mark that day, announcing the coming arrival of grandchild number two!
The surprise and joy of the family was such a moving and fun thing to capture for this family as the celebrations began.
Fun Fact: Ashley is sister with of one of my lovely brides, Marissa! From Marissa + Brandon Dreams Puerto Aventura Wedding and this session happened a year before the wedding – when Marissa got engaged, Ashley recommended me and from all the love I saw on this photoshoot, I knew the wedding was going to be so great!
