I was invited to photograph a Royalton Riviera Cancun Wedding on a brilliant July day. Dorota, the mother of the bride, had to fight back tears as she helped her daughter into a breathtaking wedding gown. “Be content in the moment knowing everything happens in divine time,” reads the elegantly scripted tattoo on the brides left shoulder blade, and nothing is more beautiful a wedding day sentiment than that.
Michelle and Kyle, who connected over a Snapchat of their now much beloved pit bull Scooby, are truly an example of the blessings that come in divine time.
This was the first opportunity I’ve had to photograph a wedding on the Sky Terrace at the Royalton Riviera Cancun, and I can’t recommend it enough for ceremonies! As the couple read their vows to each other, a cool ocean breeze swirled through the open-air venue, dancing through the bride’s hair and tulle train, and the ocean sparkled blissfully behind them. And as the brand new husband and wife strolled together on the shore, palm trees glowing in the light of the setting sun, it was impossible not to join in with their elated laughter and share in their joy.
Many brides worry over whether or not four hours of coverage will be enough to catch everything from getting ready to the reception entrance, but if the couple is planning a brief ceremony and the schedule is followed, it can be the perfect amount of time. At Michelle and Kyle’s wedding, I was able to photograph all of the reception highlights, from the first dance on a glowing fuchsia floor to the toasts that had everyone reaching for their napkins to wipe their eyes.
